Dr. Dawn X. Henderson is the Director of Research, Power Building at Village of Wisdom and Co-Director of the Collective Health and Education Equity Research (CHEER) Collaborative in North Carolina. Prior to entering the nonprofit sector, she led research at Duke University, UNC Chapel Hill and served as an Associate Professor at North Carolina A&T State University and Assistant Professor at Winston-Salem State University.  She has a PhD in Applied Social and Community Psychology and has spent a decade building the dream potential of students and communities to co -lead community-driven and action-oriented research. She can tell the world about her academic accomplishments but what is most significant is the dream to be a Community Cultivator and Space Creator. A scholar committed to co-creating and cultivating space for Black and Brown people, their children, and communities to thrive.
