Ashley Dundas, Class of 2008
Ashley Dundas describes herself as a lifelong learner. Following her graduation from Saint Augustine’s College, Ashley simultaneously earned her Master’s degree in education while teaching. She’s taught in the public, private and charter sectors of elementary education for over 14 years. During the pandemic, Ashley had the privilege of opening and operating as the administrator of Thales Academy Glen Allen. Thales Academy is a network of 12 private schools out of North Carolina, serving over 3,000 students, with her campus being the first out of the state in Virginia. During this time she was able to drive enrollment, being one of few schools to offer in-person learning during the pandemic.
She thoroughly enjoys dissecting areas of growth for her students, colleagues and herself. Throughout the past 14 years, she has garnered essential skills and experiences in education. Ashley finds great pride in developing skill specific lessons to bridge students’ learning gaps which prepares them to become tomorrow’s leaders. As a school leader, she fuses the successful use of teaching and learning strategies with relationship building.
Ashley proudly serves her community as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.,The Life Church RVA, private school panelist in Richmond, Virginia, PTA Secretary of Manchester High School and Girl Scout mom.
Alongside her career endeavors, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband Leslie and children Cardell and Elle. She’s learned more from her family than she could ever teach, from knock knock jokes to how to raise a teenager! Her family fuels her drive and are an integral part of her path, growth and future.
