Peer-reviewed scientist, keynote speaker, and DEI enthusiast. With a background in global health immunology, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion, Dr. Morgan Barham’s career expands over several industries aimed at enhancing women’s health and diversifying universities and the field of science altogether. 

Morgan learned the value of dedication at an early age growing up in West Philadelphia as the oldest of three grandchildren. It was her early dedication, hard work, and determination to avoid a life of mediocrity that inspired her to study hard and earn a full academic scholarship to Saint Augustine’s College, where she earned her Bachelor of Science with a 4.0 GPA. She carried this work ethic into her graduate studies, earning her doctorate in immunology and molecular pathogenesis with a focus on tuberculosis and HIV co-infections, from Emory University. 

Thereafter, Morgan continued this trajectory of excellence and dedication to her field, earning several academic, mentoring, and leadership awards for her superior performance. Morgan knows excellence is a journey, not simply a destination. This perspective inspired her to teach, develop programming, mentor, and inspire hundreds of future doctors and scientists during her graduate school career. She brings this same dedication to her profession as a Medical Science Liaison with hospital CEOs and laboratory directors as they strive to decrease morbidity and mortality across the nation. 

Morgan is passionate about equity, public health, and the success of underrepresented minorities. In addition to her everyday duties as an MSL, Morgan serves her community making care packages for low-income families with her church, mentoring several undergraduate and graduate students across the United States, and actively participating in social justice events hosted by her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. With such a foundation, Morgan is inspired to help people take their careers – and themselves – to unprecedented levels.
